mixture of Ponderosa Pine, Incense Cedar and Black Oak
woodlands providing a rich environment for wildlife and
foothill homesites alike. |

| On the slopes above Slate Creek, several
intermittent drainages support wet montane meadows and
riparian forests which are of great value to wildlife habitat
and water quality downstream. |

Canal:

| The Nevada Irrigation District’s
historic Rough and Ready ditch flows through the property,
supplying ample water to the project as well as providing
hiking trails and wildlife habitat. |

Views:

| The north facing slopes of the site,
steepest in a band at the center of the property, offer
spectacular views of the Slate Creek drainage and mountains
beyond. |

Flowers:

| The shallow volcanic soils that underlay
this large meadow area provide a unique environment for
breathtaking and locally renown spring wildflower displays. |

Grass
Valley's Western Gateway:

the western gateway into the City of Grass Valley. |
